Odysseus said he didn’t know, but hopefully it would be soon. I went to take a nap but I simply could not fall asleep. I felt very nostalgic; I missed my family a lot. “Odysseus,” I said, “I’m very hungry. Do you think we could eat before we explore?”
Odysseus pondered this for a moment before responding, “Sure, Iskander, but you must be one of the ones who go.” “Of course!” I quickly accepted and got ready to eat.
“Where exactly are we?” asked Aiolos, one of my close friends on the shop. “The island of the Lotus-Eaters,” responded Odysseus. After lunch Odysseus rounded three of us up. It was me, Aiolos, and my least favorite person - Fons. Fons didn’t do anything particular to make me dislike him, he was just very annoying. I groaned at his name.
“Shut up and be more mature, Iskander,” Odysseus scolded me.
I apologized and tried to tolerate Fons’ presence.
“You three are to go investigate the natives that live here and try to befriend them. Whatever you do, do NOT eat the lotus flower, okay?” said Odysseus; mainly to me I’m sure. I sheepishly smiled and promised not to touch the flowers. Odysseus sent us off and we began walking. Aiolos and I were talking the whole time, mainly telling stories from back home. I told him all about Idella and our twin daughters, Irene and Ilene. They would have been three years old and I missed them like
