What we are seeing in the example of Homer is his ability to retain ideas about what a work of art is with an inability to discern the difference between the idea of the work of art and the failed DIY BBQ pit project. In this example Einstein is constantly muttering random phrases and giving the wrong responses to questions asked by the owner. Rather than what was seen in her shower video where every phrase she repeated seemed to allude to her understanding of the idea of the shower, we see something completely different in her acting silly video. This non-stop muttering causes a similar duckrabbiting of ideas, which I proposed to be the cause of Homer’s inability to discern the difference between separate ideas. Since there is inconsistency in Einstein’s ability to connect the right phrases to the right context we must assumes that there is also an inconstancy in her understanding. Sometimes she creates the right associations, and at times these associations are all jumbled together, meaning her understanding is restricted in the same way as …show more content…

Regardless, Homer and Einstein effortlessly enter into this philosophical interrogation, which Descartes finds so challenging. This interrogation of everything was difficult for Descartes because he was an intellect, for this reason it was difficult to forget the meaning behind all ideas and images. This maybe a bit of a stretch, since for Homer and Einstein’s case they weren’t actively choosing to interrogate the things around them, it was merely a consequence of their actions which can only be appreciate by those of intellect. However, despite this thought we do experience quite a profound moment in Einstein’s video Einstein Talks and Gets Thirsty! In which Einstein offers us this affirmation at the beginning of the
