In no way should there ever be a Confederate History Month celebrated in the United States of America. First of all, Steve Tuttle clearly said loud and clear that the Confederacy lost the war. Why celebrate when your side didn’t even win. There’s no point in even saying that it would celebrate the hard work and sacrifice that the “poor” confederate soldiers made. They wouldn’t have died if they didn’t fight to keep such cruel “practices” in the United States.…

During the Mt. Everest team simulation, we learned quite a bit about what it means to be on a team. When climbing Mt. Everest in both a simulation and in real life you really depend on your team to do what is necessary to reach a goal. This could be a simple personal goal (such as the photographer to stay at camp 1 and 2 an extra night) or a larger goal that is shared by multiple people on the team (the leader and marathoner’s goal of reaching the summit). Our team had achievements and failures, all of the failures in hindsight could’ve been easily conquered if our team biggest hurdle was overcome in the beginning, communication. We had strengths that helped us along the way.…

There are few things that Texans love more than high school football. Once the football season is in full swing, Texans bring out their traditions. Tailgating, pep rallies, sold out stadiums for home games, and most importantly Homecoming. Homecoming has its own traditions, such as honoring alumni, spirit week, the parade, and homecoming court. While these rituals may be commonplace in most states, there is one particular practice that is so uniquely Texan, so big and flashy that no other state has and quite frankly not many would want, homecoming mums and garters.…
