I don’t believe that placement program would be appropriate in today’s society because no real investigation or evaluating of the homes and families who wanted to become foster parents. Watching the Orphan train, like many foster parents today are not in it for the right reason to take care of the child. They are more focused on the money they will receive for the child. Many of those foster parents were looking for children slaves to take care of the household and to work on the farms. The Children Aid Society was a wise approach of getting the children off the streets off New York, but I felt that Grace should have too precautionary measures when placing orphans with foster parents.
