It is a place of protection, one place in the world where one does not have to worry about anything. Where one feels safe about going to sleep at night and feels safe about the people around them. Home is where one lives and where one belongs and feels like they belong there. A house is just a building where a person lives and there is no emotion or excitement about being there, home to them does not matter, where a home to someone else is more than that it is personal and more down to earth place that is built for people to share memories and special events in life. A home is filled with people who care more about the people that live there than they do about themselves. Home is not where one comes home from a long day and fights with the ones he or she is supposed to love and care most about in

Sonsyrea Tate once said, “You can leave home all you want, but home will never leave you.” This statement gives light to a higher meaning of the word “home” than merely a place to live. The Architizer defines home as a complex, interpretational, and unique way of organizing and understanding the space within ourselves and the way the world around us is constructed (Linda Bennett, "Architizer"). When the word “home” is defined in a dictionary you are given definitions like “the place in which one’s domestic affections are centered” or “any place of residence or refuge” but to me home means so much more. Theatre transports me to places I couldn’t dream of otherwise and two years ago, I was taken to a place that would change my life forever and theatre transformed to the place I call home. Thoughts and ideas flooded my mind as I stepped into the off-green colored cafeteria.…
