However, our organization received numerous complaints from field clinicians with the use of HCHB. Clinicians use tablet to access their patients through HCHB software. I agree that this is simple and user friendly, but there are inefficiencies noted which happens most of the time in terms of purchasing the correct medical supplies and its prompt delivery to our patients. The tremendous insufficiency of supply chain for which a third of a health service organization’s budget is made of supplies and services. Currently, our staff purchase patient’s medical supplies through Medline and they also purchase their own medical supplies from stock shelves through HCHB software. However, my recommendation to the current process of ordering medical supplies through HCHB software is with the inclusion of reporting tools such as product images, its usage, cost and to track packages and shipment status. It will help to prevent errors in the purchase of supplies, staff gets full knowledge of the product and its cost and most importantly, the ability of staff to track packages and shipment status. The integration of the entire procurement -order through the delivery process and the enhancement of the current process of our organization will have a great deal of benefits not only patient satisfaction but also our staff and our employer’s satisfaction. The role of technology and education in home health care goes hand in hand. I recognized the fact that new employees are truly challenged with all these technologies, particularly older practitioners who are pre-generated techies. The health care industry is a highly competitive environment, therefore, my role as a leader is to reiterate organizational expectations, norms, and performance standards. While leaders take the risk of devising new solutions to inefficiencies in supply
