In my opinion, in this case Cedars-Sinai Medical center wins. Because the installation of the pace maker was a service provided by the medical center. The pacemaker was manufactured by American Technology Inc, hence this company should be held liable for any defect in its product. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center was not involved in either manufacturing or selling or distributing or testing of the pacemaker. So it is not liable for any injury caused to Frances Hector.…

Compare and contrast UCLA and Intermountain Medical Center’s outcomes. Why do you think there are such significant differences in outcomes and expenditures? • Both UCLA and intermountain medical centers, I believe, have a goal to improve the health care system and the outcomes for patients. Critique of the Rhea Medical Center Community Health Needs Assessment Rhea Medical Center conducted their most recent Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) in 2016. The CHNA data applies to people living in the geographic areas of Dayton, Graysville, Evensville, Spring City and Grandview, all communities of Rhea County, Tennessee (Rhea Medical Center, 2016, p. 11). One thing that surprised me in the CHNA was of the top 15 causes of death in the United States, nine occurred at "Higher than expected" rates in Rhea County (Rhea Medical Center, 2016, p. 30). This is disturbing as I have lived in Rhea County most of my life and have always considered it a safe and healthy place to live. Also surprising, were the mortality and premature death rates, which according to the CHNA are also both higher in Rhea County than the state and national averages.…

Your healthcare organization, Harris Memorial Hospital, needs to look at both “hard” and “soft” savings when considering a system’s return on investment. Today’s presentation we will take a deeper look at the soft returns when implementing an electronic health record (EHR) system. It is important to remember that indirect savings are usually applied to processes not easily measured and, thus, quantifying savings can be difficult to see at first. We will look at the three steps in documenting soft returns: (1) identifying a process improvement opportunity, which is improved time/efficiency; (2) create a formula to calculate the benefits; (3) and determine the costs of the process and the net benefits. In order to determine the return benefits from EHR implementation, it is necessary to establish baseline metrics that can be used as a guideline for measuring success after the implementation.…
