This semester has really helped me see my potential as a student. I have developed new habits, learned new strategies, and exceeded many academic and personal goals. In this essay I will be explaining how this SDEV course helped me do all these things, as well as help me decide the career i will be pursuing.
Throughout my college experience I have been pursuing a sociology degree but, the more I learned about Psychology the more I started to be attracted to it. Our Holland Typology assignment really helped me gain insight into both of the majors I have been stuck between. For example, i learned that a sociologist has a very low job outlook and a Psychologist has a high job outlook with potential for increase over the years. I have a connection with social work from being in foster care but it is because of a Psychologist that I am happy and healthy today. When i first went into care I saw a Psychiatrist every couple weeks who had me on 8 different pills at night and 3 in the morning. When i met with a Psychologist for talk therapy I expressed my concerns and he helped me get off alll of the toxic medication and ultimately helped change my life. I learned about …show more content…
Im proud to say that my new years resolution will be complete when final grades post. I wanted to get my gpa back up to a 2.0 and I am more than positive that it will, after calculating my gpa with different grade outcomes. This is the second time I have taken Student Development and I am so thankful that I did. This time around I learned how to do things that will help me throughout my college experience and, I am going to use them over and over again in order to be successful in school. For example, I learned how to calculate my gpa, and how to manage stress which turned out to be much more help than I had initially thought it would. I learned time management techniques and I learned how to pin point my bad
