The Netflix original show, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency is about a detective named Dirk who recruits reluctant, and fairly normal, Todd to solve a murder, all while exploring the interconnectedness of all things. Throughout the show, the amount of control any given person has over their life is questioned. Philosophers debate as to whether humans have choices in life, or if they only have the illusion of choice. Existentialists presume that people have as much choice as they do responsibility.
