Gerard Hendrik (Geert) Hofstede is a Dutch social psychologist and well known about his cross cultural group and organization research. He realizes that social contrasts can go about as a boundary to correspondence, and that they could influence his ability to connect and inspire individuals. Hofstede theory has five dimensionals, the theory explain about the cultural dimension which are individualism vs collectivism, power distance, uncertainty avoidance, masculinity/femininity, and long term orientation. The explanation of individualism vs collectivism is that individualism focuses on the word I which mean care more on their individual life but for collectivism is focused on the word W which means care more in the group. Power distance is measurement discloses the degree to which individuals who are less effective in a general public acknowledge and furthermore expect that the dissemination of power happens unequally. Uncertainty avoidance is the group with high demand to avoid high uncertainty or avoid risk, and they need high stability. Masculinity is a trait of masculinity, freedom, ambition and aggression. She said that she likes to travel in group rather than alone because going in group have more fun and also it is better to travel with friends if she does not know the languages her friends can help and it is easier to depends on each others, and she can learn either ways when she is in the group, it is more effective. Base on the country that she went for travelling which is Japan, Japanese people are more collectivism as their society look at the harmony of the group and exchange for royalty. On the other hand, American people are more individualism because their society is focused on the individual. They desired their life by themselves and they did not rely on others.
