Ho Chi Minh had a veritable unstable life that leveraged him into being an activist for Vietnam. His father was a nationalist that operated with the French (“Ho Chi Minh”, Encyclopedia). Ho’s father left his family at a young age, leaving him to live with his mother and siblings, then moved to Hue where his mother dies. Shortly after and Ho moves back to Kim Lien. After the Chinese revolution and a talk with his dad, he decides to travel to Europe. Leaving and traveling help him by gaining knowledge about types of governments in different societies. To reduce enlistment for the Viet Minh the French made it limited to join. Assassinations, and arrests made it had for the Vietnamese society to agree with the social plan (“Ho Chi Minh Organizes the Viet Minh, May, 1941”). Gaining trust from the Vietnamese was hard due to their community being shot down. Investing into the Viet Minh was the political party job to persuade people into doing. The Vietnamese political party used the frustration in society from the WW2 to help invest in the Viet Minh. The Viet Minh welcomed women to the organization which helped in expansion of participation and “national resistance movement”(“Ho Chi Minh Organizes the Viet Minh, May, 1941”). The idea of welcoming women gave a message of how cooperative they were with society which persuaded more participation. Compromise to help the Viet Minh was crucial for expansion.
