Korean war- The Korean war started June 25, 1950. The North Korean soldiers crossed over the 38th parallel into South Korea to impose communism. The war had up to 5 million deaths. North Koreans born after the war was 2 inches shorter than South Koreans.

Color TV- In 1940 researches and Peter Goldmark invented mechanical color for television. "Between 1946 and 1950 the research staff of RCA Laboratories invented the world's first electronic, monochrome compatible, color television system." - From IEEE Milestone Plaque. By 1949 10 million television sets have been sold. TV programs were available for the general public.
