In the 2000 American war film, The Patriot, the Historical facts are mostly inaccurate.First two out of the three main Characters didn’t have the same names as there real life counterparts. This was many due to the families of the men not wanting taint the names of there ancestors.Also a character in the film, who was a slave, was told he could be freed and payed if he joined the Continental Army. In reality some slaves did join, but were not payed.Also during the scene in Yorktown, the French army came to the aid of militias and the army. Really the French came about a year after the Battle of Saratoga, which was a couple years before the Battle of Yorktown. Thoughout the movie the The British army were shown as ruthless killers.
