Hispanic Population Essay

Latinos are the fastest growing population in the United States. It is important to know Latino population is comprised of many nationalities includes Mexico, Central America, South American, and islands in the gulf. “The Hispanic population reached a new high of 55.4 million in 2014 (or 17.4% of the total U.S. population), an increase of 1.2 million (2.1%) from the year before” (Krogstad, & Lopez, 2016). As the Latino population increase and becomes older there will be need to better understand this population concerning medical and health. Nurse must be prepared and know as much as they can about Latino populations. It only occurs when the disease or injury has permeants or long lasting effects and there’s a need for medical vigilance to prevent further complication and deterioration. The focus on this type of treatment is on rehabilitation and the goal is to help people regain a level of functioning that is an improvement to their quality of life.
