We train and practice like any other football player or track star would as building endurance and strength to prepare ourselves for the future. We have to perform in ways where out facial expression and energy has to create an emotion or story for the audience to see and understand. Every dance I have seen perform has a different story to tell. For example, hip-hop has representative of being tough and in power of whatever is around them. Ballet has front of elegance and classy personality, and it goes on. Dancing comes out in all different types of styles, cultures, and techniques. In modern day, Latin dance is very “enjoyed by spectators in competitions and ballrooms” (McFarland). The mood of the dance is usually self-expressed, passionate and engaging. It is known for their fast paced, whole footsteps, sensational, and rhythmic expression. Latin dance involves five dances; Cha-Cha (energetic and sassy), Rumba (“dance of love", danced to romantic Latin love songs), Samba (often difficult to master, lively Brazilian dance consisting of many jumps and turns, extremely fast dance), Paso Doble (lively, march-like dance with significantly less hip movement), and Jive (variation of the Jitterbug).
