These tests can work in your favor or can be very detrimental to your future. The SAT and ACT should not be used as an accurate assessment of a student’s aptitude for college. The reason for this is that a student could be a very keen, hard working person who may not take tests well.…

Quite a lot of times I have heard anecdotes of people avoiding STD tests because they're scared of knowing for sure that they have a sexually transmitted disease. They'd prefer to stay in the dark, but while there may have been a twisted logic to this some years ago when little could be done about sexually transmitted diseases, nowadays it makes no sense at all. Some STDs can be cured, and there are ways of managing the symptoms of others to ensure they're barely a hindrance any longer. In the case of the diseases that there are cures for, delaying over a test and treatment can cause irreversible damage to the body, so regular STD tests are all important.…

I would start off in my small town by pushing forward a recycling system, using technology in place of paper and pencil, and a community trash pick up. One thing I would do is put forward the idea of a recycling program. Recycling is a benefit to both the environment and humans.…

    I. Introduction A. Child labour although opposed by many, is also promoted by others. B. It may seem that if one’s children work, it will benefit them as they will be able to take charge of their own life and support themselves; however, by allowing a child to enter the labour force, a parent is in essence harming them long term. If a child is working rather than studying, they are inflicting harm on the economy for themselves and for the generations to come. C. Even though some people argue that child labour is beneficial, there is strong evidence that child labour should be abolished because it impacts their childhood and it leads to a downturn in the economy.…

In those final hours of school, every student sits counting down the last minutes of class until the bell rings and dismisses them to return home. If one were to walk through the hallways of the typical high school’s hallway, idle chatter about high work loads, unfair teachers, and stressful standardized tests would be heard. As a high school student, I have participated in my fair share of these complaints about our school system, but undoubtedly the benefits of compulsory education outweigh the negatives. In America, and in many other countries, the government requires that students attend school up until they reach a certain age.…
