High School Criminal Justice Case Study

If I had just graduated from law school I would want to be a prosecutor. I like the thought of having to find evidence and witnesses to use against the defense. In my high school criminal justice class we had to do a mock trail each year and the prosecution always interested me. Prosecutors review reports, meet with the victims or witnesses, and they gather information to use in court against the defendant. I have always been interested in finding evidence so being a prosecutor is the best option of the two. I also would rather be the prosecuting a defendant than defending them. I would rather put a criminal in jail rather than defending them and letting them off.

There are many differences in the psychological state of most active shooters, such as those at Columbine High School, and the tactical team members who confront them. However, one of the biggest differences would be that the psychological state of most active shooters troubled. They have emotional problems and might have an issue with mental illness. Therefore, “the attacker went to the location of the attack with one objective in mind, to kill as many people as possible” (Harmening, p. 83). The only thing on their minds is their mission to kill and nothing else, not thinking beyond that point; according to Harmening, “in many cases [the active shooter] has not thought of escape or capture” (p. 82).…

On Tuesday July 6th around 12:35 a.m., Baton Rouge police responded to an anonymous call indicated that a man in a red shirt who was selling CDs outside a convenience store pointed a gun at someone, telling them to leave the property. Some type of altercation with the two responding officers occurred and afterwards Alton lay dead from multiple gunshot wounds. A video shows his final moments but as with any video depending on which side of the fence you are on people will see whatever they "WANT" to see. My article had nothing to do with the guilt or innocence of the officers, it had to do with BLM pretending Alton was just a loving father who was selling CD's to support his family and la-de-da the Police shot him like a dog.…

The development of Juvenile Justice is was this week’s subject. The essay will talk about three cases that I believe were vital to developing the juvenile system into what it is today. The main guiding principles in the development of the juvenile court are more or less loosely referenced throughout all four articles for module three. The juvenile justice and juvenile court system today are still evolving. The juvenile justice and court system are loosely based off the adult system in format with added variation to help facilitate rehabilitation among juvenile delinquents. There are still some basic building blocks and principles that helped develop this juvenile system.…

if there is one thing college has taught me, it is that it does not matter what you think you are going to become, or how far back you start from, but it is that determination in the place of those disadvantages is what makes all the difference. I did not choose to be a lawyer because anyone in my family was, in fact, no one in my family worked anything close to it. My mother has worked as a waitress, a seamstress in a factory, and finally as a baker since arriving in this country. I took it upon myself to try and become something more, something that my mother did not have the opportunity to be. As the oldest child in a house of three I fulfilled the function of the interpreter in the family, which gave me the sense of responsibility and maturity that came with that role.…
