Manipulative Magick

Improved Essays
A hex is manipulative magick.
It can be placed on someone as a kind of protection, but a hex can also be placed on someone in a negative way to really manipulate the person and to change the person's own will.
So in general a hex can be used negatively, but it does not have to. It is a manipulation to control other people to make them act in a special way, not in their own nature.
It can be used to help others, if we want them to be safe from being harmed.

The word dates back to the early 1800's and in these times this word only meant "to do witchcraft". It comes from Pennsylvanian Dutch - it was the equivalent to the German word "hexen", which still only means to do witchcraft.
The term had originally Norwegian Roots; it came also from Germany

So if I would have no other choice I would use a hex, if I could maybe save for example my child.

It is very important to know what a "Hex" really is, because with a hex we can do positive but also negative things.
It is possible to do something for the well of everybody with a hex - but to do this we have to know really all facts. So it is important to look at really everything, every little detail, before we're putting a hex on someone, because even when it's for their best (as we think it is so), it still is manipulative. We can use a hex to protect, to keep others from being harmed (like we protect children, because we know some things better) - but we're putting our will on their's.

As witchcraft was seen as a bad thing in the old days a "hex" is also connected to be something bad - in these times everything was seen as bad black magic, which was not Christian. Many people see in the term "hex" a negative thing, because it manipulates others. They say, that a hex is too much manipulative magic, because we're interfering with other person's will.
But we have to see, that in general a hex is no bad magic if we do not make it to

Former president, Bill Clinton once said, “If you live long enough, you’ll make mistakes. But if you learn from them, you’ll be a better person. It’s how you handle adversity, not how it affects you.” In literature, characters can evolve from their mistakes, they can handle their conflicts in different ways, and they can have positive or negative change. Both Hester Prynne from The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Abigail Williams from The Crucible by Arthur Miller commit adultery in a time the shamed and punished those who were guilty of doing so to a much higher degree than in today’s society.…

This all began in the small area of Salem Village, Massachusetts. These events started when some young girls claimed that others were supposedly “possessed by the devil.” A young girl started with this excuse after her and a handful of others were caught by a man while she and the other girls in the village were dancing in the forest, but some had claimed they were performing rituals to summon the devil himself. The word spread and anything someone thought was off about another person, or if they did not have a close bond was their way to accuse them of being a witch and getting rid of them forever. All of these reasons had been false and not what they were said to be, and people also were able to use this against people, neighbors, or outsiders…

This is the meaning behind why they wear the scarlet letter. In the book, Hester is forced to wear the A and everyone knows her by that symbol. The Puritan community is more strict about what is and is not allowed. The scarlet letter is described as “[having] the effect of a spell, taking her out of the ordinary relations with humanity, and enclosing her in a sphere by herself” (Hawthorne 56). This explains why she has to wear the scarlet letter.…

We know that hevel is negative. And we know that it is like a lie, like false gods, like a passing shadow, like the wind, and like lack of knowledge. We also know from the context of Ecclesiastes that hevel represents potentially valuable pursuits that turn out not to be worthwhile after all. The excellent Jewish Study Bible (p. 1606) explains that hevel in Ecclesiastes “concerns actions and work that do not last, or appear to lead to no lasting goal, or cannot be explained in any rational, i.e., human, way.”…

It comes about when one commits a sin. Almost everyone is affected by it at some point in their life. It is a horrible feeling that eats away at one’s entire being causing great pain and distress. When an individual rebels from the group, as seen in the way Hester does, the entire group must denounce the individual because the image as a whole is ruined. When it comes to religion, the Puritans must completely disapprove, especially of Hester’s sin. Ignoring the sin implies acceptance and thus, seemingly meaning approval. The community must show to God that it condemns the sin and the sinner, and are more devout Puritans than the individual who has sinned. The sole purpose of the letter A is to separate her from the others.…

In the sixteenth century, from the spread of torture as a technique in witchcraft trials, new questions arise: why did people at the time believe that confessions created via torture were sound evidence to be used in the conviction of the defendant? I hypothesize that, confessions extracted during witchcraft trials via torture were accepted as sound evidence of guilt because of statements made by the nobility and clergy. Malleus maleficarum is a compilation of special manuals also known as hammers, and other manuscript manuals. The Malleus malficarum was one of the first ever witch-hunt manuals, written by two Dominican monks: Heinrich Kramer and Jacob Sprenger, who is credited by modern people argue about his participation. Prior to the age of religious reformation and the Late Middle Ages, witchcraft did not hold such a negative connotation. In fact, it was divided into two – white magic and black magic. White magic was used by healers, wise men and women, as well as others who fit this category. Black magic, on the other hand, were practiced by those who sought to harm others, thus used their abilities for evil. It was this kind of magic that got a person labelled as a witch rather than the titles used for the practitioners of white magic.…

The idea that a group of people possessing supernatural powers exist among us has proved to have been an alarming concept throughout history from the Classical Era to some cultures in the modern society. The depiction of witchcraft in the 21st century is usually complete with protagonist witches fighting malicious villains, however, witchcraft and the hunt of witches that has left an execution of 40,000 to 50,000 “witches” in Europe has been a predominant practise in Early Modern Europe (c1560-1660). Witch hunting was profoundly centred in England, Germany, and Scotland, and occurred during 1560 to 1660, accusing innocent scapegoats of practising witchcraft which conflicted with Christian beliefs. “Witches” were blamed for natural occurrences…
