This concept of the hero’s journey is one that has gained much praise and consideration of worth in the literary community. Classics such as Odysseus as well as more recent, tales such as that of lilo and stitch all follow the same path of the hero’s journey. What is hero’s journey? The approach occurs because Stitch causes problems and there are threats to take Lilo away from Cobra.The ordeal occurs when Stitch learns he has no family and is alone, and when Cobra takes Lilo who then runs away. The reward for Stitch is that he wants to be a family and he must rescue Lilo. The road back occurs when Stitch rescues Lilo from the spaceship. The resurrection occurs when Stitch and Lilo get to become a family.The return with Elixir occurs when everyone comes together, the aliens assist with the construction of a new house and everyone becomes friends. Lilo and Stitch is an example of a modern day hero’s journey,we can compare this to the older greek myth Odysseus and the trojan horse.Odysseus' current Ordinary World is not going well because He's been stuck fighting the Trojan War for years. In order end the war they must get through the pesky walls of the trojans. The call to Adventure odysseus creates his own Call to Adventure by coming up with the whole plan for the Trojan Horse. There is no refusal to the call. Odysseus comes up with it himself, so it'd be kind of hard to refuse it. Instead of meeting a mentor, Odysseus is the mentor for the rest to the Greeks and teaches them the ways of his plan. Crossing
