In Toledo Ohio, heroin has been on the rise in recent years. Unfortunately, being an addict can happen to anyone, no matter what age. A lot of people may think it will never happen to them, but most addicts say the same thing. Heroin is a huge problem. It can be so addictive, that even if you are clean for years, you may still come crawling back to it. Joe, who was severely addicted, relapsed multiple times and is now 8 years clean. But he does admit the temptation is still there. There can be many ways to become clean from drugs. But clearly, not everything works for every person that is addicted. It doesn’t just have to be heroin, it could be other heavy drugs that become heavily addictive.

This would mean that addicts would come to the station, put their needles or drugs into a concealed box. They then call someone down to do a form of counseling with this person. Not only does this take the drugs off the streets, but it brings in the addicts who need help, as well. This solution isn’t forcing them to come in. The police stations are not dragging them in to get help. The addicts are coming in for help because they know that they need it. They know that where there life is going now isn’t working for them, and they want something to change. This increases the probability of the person changing from this drastically. If the addict has the willpower to change, the police men and women will do everything they can to help. The counselor will also be there to help with problems they may be struggling with. The only thing that will cost money for this solution is hiring a counselor. Sense we already have a lot of police stations, we will not need to build any more buildings.
