Having visited Herne Bay for my GCSE’s geography coursework I found out that the rock sample from the (unprotected) base of the cliff in Reculver leaves clear visible mark on the paper and therefore shows that it is a less resistant rock. Reculver is made of London Clay and is a soft rock which means that it can get eroded easily. On the other hand, the managed part in Herne Bay shows that the flint rock which makes up the shingle beach at Herne Bay doesn’t smudge on the paper instead it made scratchy marks on the paper. The edges of these rocks were rounded off which testify that Attrition takes place in Herne Bay.
