February 23, 2018 Hera Hera, the goddess of marriage, sky, and the queen of the gods. The daughter of Cronus and Rhea. She is the wife of Zeus and the mother of Ares( god of War), Hebes( goddess of youth),and Eileithyia ( goddess of childbirth). She also gave birth to the god, Hephaestus. She single handedly gave birth to him, Because he was ugly in her mind, she threw him from the top of Mount Olympus to planet earth. In other accounts he was thrown by Zeus. Hephaestus was so angry at his mother that he imprisoned her in her own special thrown. The only way she got out was that she promised out was that, she were to promise her son in marriage to Aphrodite (Cartwright). Hera was mainly known for being jealous of her husband lover. They had many differences and complications, they also had many qualities that were the similar. One way they were both alike because they were both very powerful among the gods and goddesses (Sehr H). Zeus was King and Hera was queen. Even after they were married, Zeus was the one who always held the power. Their bond was noted to be more powerful than they were. ( Sehr H). Zeus and Hera are higher than all others it states clearly that this is one of the simlities that they share (Sehr H). Another thing they had in common was that they get angry really fast and want to get revenge on something or someone they don't like fast (Sehr H). Everytime Hera found out about affair that Zeus would have. She would quickly act upon it in angry (Sehr H). She would do something bad to all the women for revenge for having affair with her husband. Zeus would seek revenge on Hera if she did something to a woman that he loved or liked.
