Henry Mintzberg Managerial Roles Analysis

Henry Mintzberg already introduce his managerial roles that manager can be use in every part of an organizations. There are ten managerial roles and they are under three categories which are interpersonal, information and decisional. The managerial roles under categories interpersonal are figurehead, leader and liaison. While, informational includes monitor, disseminator and spokesperson. The last categories is decisional that include entrepreneur, disturbance handler, resource allocator and negotiator.
The first categories is interpersonal roles. In simple word, we can conclude this categories as providing the information for manager. Interpersonal roles allow the manager to keep the organization operating in harmony and cooperation. This three roles were important and cannot be ignored by manager.

Managers play the role of mediators in internal conflicts and must make fair and just decisions in this role. Most of the important negotiation will take place right within the department team. Manager need to know how to reach agreement with outside organization like clients. Manager need to handle the best situation that will give the benefit to the own organization and client organization. Managers will know what they want to get from the deal and also take time to think about the client. For example employee is insisting on a promotion because manager has promised them one a while back and they have met all the objectives agreed. managers would like to help them but they cannot. managers remember a discussion but do not recall exactly promising and no new promotions are possible. The employees insists and says they will leave if they do not get one. A good manager will be able to negotiate with employees with their own way on how to through these challenges and keep the project on track for
