Henry Ford’s Impacts on Mobilization A major start of the automobile was Henry Ford. He always wanted to help make a way for the middle class to have some of the luxuries of the upper class. His way was the Ford car. One of Henry’s greatest quotes from the book Who Was Henry Ford stated “To do for the world more than the world does for you-that is success” (Michael Burgan 61). This was Henry’s overall goal in life and he thoroughly finished it by allowing people to become more mobile and therefore bringing change in the American landscape, paving a way for equality by means of letting any person work for him, and giving the key to the doorway of much easier and efficient transportation. His start was not the best one because the gas engines at the time were noisy and dirty but Henry had an idea to change that. On Christmas Eve, 1893, Henry got his first gas engine to start and that was the building block to which he finished his vehicle three years later. Although there were other engines out there, Henry’s made the most sense. The gas engine started right away and could carry a long way. Contrary to that, the electric motor was not as efficient and it’s battery did not last long. A good and fast motor was a steam powered but it was very heavy and took about fifteen minutes to start up. In the end it turns out that Henry really did have the right idea. America is now different because of Henry Ford. He is the reason that you have your favorite fast food restaurant and all of the roads when you walk outside. He is the reason you can travel. Now because of him we have achieved great heights in getting a human being from one place to another in a short amount of time with a great deal of efficiency.
