Henry Ford, during the early 20th century. Henry Ford is considered one of the most innovative entrepreneurs and industrialists of the industrial age and modern economics. From early on in his career, he was successful with the invention of the Model T - a relatively cheap automobile for the everyday consumer. However, he wanted to be able to make the product better and cheaper. He found that he was able to make machine parts quickly, however the assembly time was slowing down production, and thus driving up the costs. What Ford came up with was a method of production and management that involves the usage of assembly-line production strategies (as opposed to the traditional method of the time) to make low-cost, easily reproducible products in mass volume, while at the same time maintaining employee morale through higher incentives and top-down management. In other words, it entailed an assembly-line production method and winning the loyalty of workers through a high-wage economy.
