Since Henry has fled the military, I believe that he has no intention of returning. “As I make my trip back to America, all I can think about is my life and how it has changed. I’ve fought in a war that I did not completely believe, I’ve found a girl that I love, and I’ve lost the girl that I love. I had a child and lost that child in the blink of an eye.
I’m going back to America to try and live a long, healthy life. Being in the Italian military has taught me many different things. I made new friends and lost fellow fighters in battle. I’m ready to be back in America. I’m ready to make new friends and try and forget about the life that I lived while I was overseas. I promised Catherine to never say what I said to her, to other girls. I plan to keep this promise, and will hopefully live a happy, healthy life without her.”
