faulty pump
If the pump is not working properly the hot coolant will not get into radiator and the cool coolant will not properly reach the engine the circulation process will get very slow or maybe sometimes will not take place hence the engine will overheat. Causes of brake failure
1.if there is leak in the master cylinder then the fluid pressure will not be created because of this the pressure required will not be produced hence the vehicle will not stop in turn the brake will fail. The braking force required to be applied on the disc brake will not occur only a little amount of braking will take place. Hence the brake will fail
2. if there is a leak in the braking system then braking fuild wil leak. The braking system works on the principle that fluid is incompressible. If there is leak then we wont be able to create pressure inside the system hence the pressure required will not created and the brake will not work
3. when brake gets heated because of high temperature there forms a drums or rotor in the brake and they are known as hotspots and these hotspot resist the friction from the brake shoes and …show more content…

4.2 Explain the in service conditions that contributes to the failure of semi metallic disc brakes in a SUV
There are many reasons which can contribute to the failure of semi metallic disc brakes:
• The disc is needed to be change after certain amount of time or if it has covered the required distance. The width of the disc is reduced due to which the braking effect is reduced and can also cause failure.
• The biggest reason for brake failure is if there is air in the system due to this when the brake is applied instead of compression of fluid the air is compressed due to which the force produced by the master cylinder is less hence causing the brake to fail.
• The most common reason for brake fail can be if there is a leak in the system due to which the hydraulic fluid which is required is system is drained or due to leak the pressure is lost which leads to brake failure.
• If the brake pad are not changed from time to time.
• If the brakes are used with the damaged brake pads.
• If the oil is not topped from time to time the amount of required brake fluid for braking will not be present hence causing low braking or in some cases even failure might
