A aircraft carrier, that the government built for $6.5 billion, has to pay $250 million to stay active daily, that's 4831 times the average yearly income of U.S residents. $70.9 billion are being put into jails yearly, but yet only .5 billion dollars are put into the State Homeland Security Program. In addition, the U.S is spending $2.2 billion on finding the cure for heart disease that kills 360,000 yearly. It sounds like a lot of money going into heart disease, but before coming to the conclusion that the government is looking after the victims of heart disease, take in the fact that it cost over $100,000 dollars for a person with heart disease to live for 1 more year, and a large portion of that is out of the patients friend’s and family’s pockets; the government isn’t really paying to keep them alive. …show more content…
