Though there are plenty of research done in health care industry using simulation models for quality improvement, based on previous researches it was found that nearly twenty one percent of the research problems dealt with health policy issues. Fifty percent of researches were done on specialization focus clinics or clinics with similar case type. These ignored the interactions between facilities which is huge effect on real system. Though the presence of this high percent of research in specialization focused clinics have been done there is very low implementation of healthcare simulation models. …show more content…
Preoperative, Intra Operative and postoperative units of hospital. There may be different clinic areas used operating these three units. In this research we focus on the real life scenario of a community Hospital clinic with consideration of all departments in hospital. The Preoperative area which is in same day surgery unit or SDS unit is the very first phase of the process. Here the patient is checked for basic vital signs, face to face interviewed by surgeon and anesthesiologist who explains the treatment process to patient and the patient is made ready for undergoing surgery. Usually preoperative phase on average takes 45 to 60 minutes. The second phase of perioperative is the intra operative phase, here the physicians and anesthesiologists operate patients depending upon their case types. The intra operative phase takes place in Operating Room. The postoperative area are again divided into two phases as postop phase1 and postop phase2. Here Phase1 and phase2 are only for all patients who received any form of anesthesia for surgery or treatment[4] Once the treatment/ surgery is completed the patient is transferred to Postoperative phase 1 in Post Anesthesia Care Unit or PACU location. This phase focuses on providing post anesthesia care for patient who had anesthesia for surgery. The highest priority of phase 1 is to monitor mandatory life sustaining needs of patient [4]. The last phase of
