In this world today, we expect instant gratification therefore, anything to save time is accepted and praised. People want to get a lot for their money yet, not pay too much for it. Processing food has been a way to do so.
The definition of processed food is anything that is changed from its raw state, therefore frozen vegetables, breads, pre-cut fruits and vegetables are all considered processed. These types of processed foods are usually still okay to eat due to them still being “all natural”. Chemically processed foods are foods that have added chemicals in it to help with flavor and help raise the shelf-life. Due to adding these chemicals the question is raised: Is this good for me?

MSG is a well-known additive to processed foods and is a flavoring agent that is a form of concentrated salt. It is added to foods to enhance the flavor. You can find MSG in many foods not just fast foods as many people believe. This chemical is extremely cheap and therefore, the food industry can use low-quality food and the MSG covers the taste of cheapness of the food.
BHA is added to oil containing foods to stop the food from becoming rancid and is considered a carcinogen (substance that is capable of causing cancer). According to _________ "BHA is found in foods fried in animal fats, baked goods, dehydrated potatoes, sausage, chicken and meat products” (****)
