I disagree and agree with the results of my test. I feel as though the possible answer choices were limited. Some of the sections need more varying types of choices than just a change in one word from the above answer choice. Despite the limited number of answer choices, I feel that the number of question was insufficient to be able to calculate my happiness. The test only focuses on work, success, purpose, etc. not about the things that I find in life that give me happiness. In addition, the test could vary depending on the time of the year and the position emotionally I am. At the this current juncture in time, I am less happier than I usually am or happier times in the year. However, I do agree with the results because it is general close to my happiness right now.

The Highest good is Happiness. The researcher and professor of psychology Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi writes in his essay “ Happiness Revisited” about how people seek happiness and desire to be happy. However, the happiness that everyone is so strongly seeking and aiming for most of the life cannot be bought with money, nor is it something that just happens. As Csikszentmihalyi writes, “ It is not something that money can buy or power command” (608). In the other words, Csikszentmihalyi is expressing the main idea of the essay, which is that happiness is something that each individual should work on and it will not be handed to them.…

In my relationships with others the incorporation of some of these results will help me talk to people more in my community, volunteer at some local places in my community, and be outgoing and very vocal about the things I am passionate about. I am not a very talkative and outspoken person so that is something I could improve on and get on there and explore new things. These are all examples from my own life that I need to improve and work on to bring myself of my shelf and comfort zone. Overall, this wellness assessment has been a very eye- opening experience for me that I will forever remember and come back to in my life. Some of the scores surprised me and some of them didn’t shock me at all like my emotional average and my financial average.…

The Rinehart Institute’s Wellness Assessment was a compelling survey with interesting results. The results from taking the assessment were mind-boggling as I did not expect some of the results to occur the way they did. In particular, my financial average is surprisingly low and money is something I truly love. But some of the results are beneficial to me and beneficial to the people I associate with. For example, my relationship average is a 4.24 which means I am an outgoing person who can keep amazing relationships with people.…

“Happiness can be measured,” Richard Layard falsely states. “We can ask a person how they feel. We can ask their friends or observers for an independent assessment. Also, we can now take measurements of the electrical activity in the relevant part of a person’s brain. All of these different measurements give consistent answers about a person’s happiness.”…

Defining happiness is an incredibly difficult idea to portray. Different things make different people happy and there are so many ways that a person could express what happiness means. Webster’s Dictionary defines it as an agreeable feeling or condition of the soul arising from good fortune or propitious happening of any kind and the possession of those circumstances or that state of being, which is attended with enjoyment. Researchers claim that up to half of a person’s happiness comes from their genes. However, happiness is not determined by your biological makeup, but rather your mindset and the external influences around you.…

In, “The New Science of Happiness,” Claudia Wells discusses 3 great ways to become more happy. By getting more pleasure out of life, becoming more engaged in what you’re doing, and finding ways to make your life more meaningful, Wells explains these actions can greatly influence your happiness levels. Savoring each and every sensory drop from any given moment will increase your gratitude towards life's seemingly mundane interactions. Which brings us to the large topic of gratitude which Wells, in conjunction with studies by psychologist Robert Emmons, explains that “Gratitude exercises can do more than life one’s mood… they improve physical health, raise energy levels, and, for patients with neuromuscular disease, relieve pain and fatigue.”…

I find that the definition of happiness depends on the person and circumstances, and to me happiness is not a mere emotion that I wish to have every single moment in my life. Happiness is a relative term that some people consider an expected result of doing good deeds, and I believe it is a memorable feeling that lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of effort and always linked to a place in some way. In order to understand what happiness is, I looked into my past and tried to find out if there is a formula for happiness. From my perspective, the level of personal happiness fluctuates depending on the situation.…
