Remove Damaged or Missing Shingles
Whether you have damaged or missing shingles, the following systematic instructions must be followed to prevent further damage to the surrounding shingles.
1. Use a hairdryer to heat the shingles directly above and below the damaged shingle to help prevent cracking.
2. Lift the shingle directly above the damaged or missing shingle to expose the nails of the damaged or missing shingle.
3. Use a pry bar to remove the nails from the damaged shingle.
4. Slide the new shingle into place and install a roofing nail at each corner and two in the center of the new shingle.
5. Reseal the edges of the shingles you loosened and installed using roofing
