In Literacy this quarter, Han-Lin demonstrated a strong understanding about the many uses of writing as a communication tool. He is able to accurately differentiate between whether an author is writing to give information or to ask questions. He recognizes that we change our writing according to our audience and is able to appropriately decide whether to use formal or informal voice in his written messages. Han-Lin can correctly distinguish between when it is appropriate to share information through postcards, emails, or letters. He correctly identifies the five parts of a friendly letter and is then able to transfer this learning by including each part in his own letters.
