Halah's Case Summary

On daily routine, Halah and eight other recently graduated students would work under the supervision of a doctor named Wasan. The situation in this scenario is that after only one month of training the supervisor had to go on sick leave for a day, so the training students were left out alone with no supervision of a professional pediatrician. To solve this problem, the supervisor sent a message telling the training students to get in a group of two and gave them a project. The project required getting two patients’ cases; deal with it and then send their work to her. So, Halah and her coworker Vivian were assigned to search about tow patients’ cases, one of whom was having a barking cough, hoarseness and noisy breathing. To do that, they did a primary research by going through the examinations’ results of each patient and detect for any abnormalities. Based on these results they started discussing the patients’ cases and give the possibilities of diseases for each case and how to deal with it. Furthermore, they did a secondary research on each case by using books and asking other professional pediatricians in the hospital, to make sure that they’re going to deal with each case correctly without making any mistakes. After all of the research they’ve done they came up with a conclusion of each case. They concluded that the first patient have croup, inflammation in the upper airways due to a virus. To deal with this case they prescribed a steroid (glucocorticoid) to the patients, to reduce the inflammation in the airway. On the other side, they‘ve concluded that the second patient have an allergy from cats that’s been causing his symptoms; so, they advised the parents to keep their child away from
