Some implications that I’ve encounter in my study were the fact that patients were reluctant at first responding to the questions, especially the ones who are illiterate. It took me longer to get an answer from them, even though I conducting it in Haitian Creole.
Conclusion
The problem raises issues Haitian women facing unable to utilizing services available to them in the community. I never knew there were so many agencies in the Boston surroundings deserving Haitians, yet, some of them are still reluctant using the services. It took me a while to understand their reluctance until one woman who seems really hurt by her husband’s abuse in the past few years, make me realize this is a serious issue, and they need the help sooner than we think. When I see the tears coming down on her face, I could see how painful it is to be alone in a country where one can’t express herself freely due to the language barrier, or fear, that is serious problem. Above all, this woman is well educated, who left her good paying job in Haiti to marry someone with whom she believed was the love of her life; and to get that kind of treatment, “its inhuman” she …show more content…
