H2PO4- is an example of an anion that is considered amphoteric. It can conduct itself as a base because it has a negative charge and can attract protons. It can also conduct itself as an acid because it has hydrogen in its molecular formula. This means it can donate a hydrogen ion to its conjugate base partner.
