Comforting
This may sound like an odd Guiding Principle, however, comfort is an important part of the learning process. I want to be a teacher that students feel comfortable with, meaning that they can bring problems to me or that they do not fear raising their hand in my class. If students are uncomfortable with their teacher learning will be much more difficult. I want students to always feel comfortable around me, not scared or anxious.
I chose the guiding principle of comfort because in this time of fear and unrest I believe that students feeling comfortable extremely important. This means that if they do not feel safe at home or in class that they understand that I am there to help, not to judge them. Another

Through all the ups and downs and that one horrible grade, one person can make a difference with a word of encouragement. Because no matter how many good things happen the bad will weigh more heavily in a person 's mind. Therefore, I want to be a teacher that lifts her students up and gives them a reason to keep trying when they do get that bad grade. Because I understand that when one thing is not going well it can feel like everything is falling apart and I want to be able to tell them it is not. I realize that this is less of a problem for 1st and 2nd graders but I still believe it is very …show more content…
It is one of this I am most passionate about the love of learning can change a child 's life completely. If I did not hate so much as a child so much I would have been able to get ahead in life instead of dragging myself through school. Of course, there is a slightly selfish reason for the principle as well. I want to make an impact on my students I want to be walking down the street years from now and have a student from one of my first classes come up to me say you were my favorite teacher. I want to physical see that I made a difference, and I may never get that moment but I want to be a fun teacher so that I can strive for that

The teacher must not only focus on lessons and subject content, but also on the development of all students. This entails not only just the classroom, but wherever they are in the school. He or she must be cognizant of what is going on around them at all times. As such, one must be sensitive to students, aware of different groups, and the interaction between those groups and other students. The teacher must be observant of student development and unusual behavior, however slight it may be.…

Some people will argue that a teacher should simply be a person who transfers important information and facts to their students, while others say that a teacher should promote creativity and happiness in their classroom. Studies have shown that students believe that their teachers need to relax, destress, and have a sense of humor in order to maintain a productive classroom. They say that having a boring teacher who teaches boring lessons, makes them feel uncomfortable in school. So, by creating an atmosphere of positivity and freedom to make mistakes, students become more likely to succeed in their studies. However, the concept of a teacher not only acting in an authoritative position, but a friendly one as well, can be controversial in some…

Personal Philosophy I believe that all children are unique and bring their own knowledge and experiences to any educational environment. I believe the early childhood environment is a place for children to be free agents to; develop, learn, grow and express themselves, while having the confidence and respect they as a person are entitled to. Furthermore I also belie that all children have the right to learn and their learning be abundant with experiences, knowledge and quality, as well as feeling a sense of belonging to their community and learning environment. These beliefs are important to my teaching and my philosophy of early childhood eduction.…

Tuesday, September 11, 2001, a date that will forever be a part of history, a tragedy that shook the world. I recall going back to school the following week, an 11 year old Muslim 7th grader ready to start her day. Boy was it difficult. The deadly stares I received while commuting on the NJ transit bus to and from school. I felt like I was the blame for every tragedy that has occurred.…

Learning is different for many people. For me, learning for learning's sake is the only way that children can actually push themselves to learn new information and find out what they love doing. Being able to learn at a young age in school is such an important trait to have. It allows students to be able to push themselves in the future to be able to do exceptional at their classwork and be able to find out what they love to do. Our educational system is flawed in this way, we just don’t let children learn on their own time.…

My work ethic was instilled in me when I was four or five. My mom was a single mother who worked incredibly hard and set an example for my older brother and I. She only wanted the best for us, which back then meant enrolling us into Santiam Christian,no matter the price. Growing up I learned to work hard for what I want. My mom, brother , and I cleaned the school in order to earn tuition money. To go to school I needed to work for it.…

Journalist, satirist and cultural critic H.L. Mencken once said, "The aim of public education is to fill the young of the species with knowledge and awaken their intelligence, and so make them fit to discharge the duties of citizenship in an enlightened and independent manner". However, in retrospect, my time within the Australian public education system has shown me that in Australia, this is not the case. Being a part of this system for the past thirteen years of my life, I have come to realise that our education system, powered by teachers who have the potential to inspire and innovate, have caged their students in cells haunted by repetition. We memorise facts to pass a test and forget about them later. We are trained to conform to the…

I believe that in order to have a successful classroom, a teacher must implement a variety of classroom management strategies to ensure that from September until June every single student gets the best education that he/she deserves. Even before the students arrive, one of the first things a teacher needs to do is make the classroom a warm, welcoming and safe place for each individual student. I want to make sure that from the first moment the students enter the classroom until the last moment before they leave that they will feel comfortable asking questions to both their peers and I. In addition, I would like my future students to feel like they can be themselves and at the same time accept their peers for who they are. When I do have…

My philosophy on education stands as is, every child is unique and with that child’s uniqueness is their drive. As an educator it is my responsibility to help find and motivate each and every child, to help them become the best possible individual he or she can be. I will do this by keeping my lessons up to date and relevant, by feeding their natural curiosity, and most importantly keeping them involved in everything we do. I feel if I can do this effectively that each and every child who comes through my classroom will be a better more rounded person when they leave.…

As we’ve studied the different types of educational philosophies in class, I’ve been able to see which category my beliefs fall into and where that puts me in the teaching world. Throughout my educational career, my family and teachers have shaped my philosophy into a combination of both romanticism and progressivism. As a teacher I want to be able to help a student strive for self-fulfillment while focusing on individual student’s learning processes. Based on my ideals, I want for my classroom to be a place where my students can go to learn in a way that suits their personality, and in a non-pressured environment. I want to be able to engage my students and challenge them to learn based on their interests.…

A teacher who listens to others and treats other’s things and feelings with care should be key (Patten et al, 2000). Taking into account the student’s perspective, culture, developmental ability, and learning style is a good way to develop trust and understanding within the classroom (Boulton-Lewis, Brownlee, Walker, Cobb-Moore, & Johanssen, 2011). Students feel valued when they are a part of a safe and positive environment and feeds their own positive beliefs and feelings about themselves (Meece & Soderman,…
