Group Presentation Paper

Group presentations, although sometimes difficult, can be very beneficial to a student in many ways. When there is equal participation among group members they learn to work together towards a goal, trust others to do their allotted portion, and also get to know one another in the process. This last Thursday I felt like my group, Peter Kost, Ariel Wallace, and Emily Chandler, was able to present a well thought out and carefully prepared presentation. Though there were some struggles in the planning process, we were all able to be respectful of each others' thoughts and ideas for the project. When we first choose a picture to share with the class, I just saw an ordinary picture, nothing was special or stuck out to me. After researching the topic and knowing some back round information, however, I picked up things out of the photo that I hadn't noticed before. Little facts, that although they didn't seem very significant before, suddenly were more noticeable simply because I knew more about the subject and was looking at the photo with a different perspective. Through a thorough research because I knew I had to have a solid knowledge on the subject, I found out the importance of viewing things with an open mind. Overall, this project developed my critical thinking abilities and therefore helped expand my skill as an academic writer because it caused me to think about other opinions and perspectives that are different than mine. Considering this and keeping it in mind throughout other projects in my scholastic future will increase what I learn throughout each task and help me develop the skill of thinking
