There were no patterns that showed any of these aspects were the reason to contribute to a group that worked well together. They soon started to look at the Group norms and realized that understanding group norms where the key to improving Googles teams. Once they started to study group norms they noticed that there was no pattern to what was a correct and incorrect norm. What worked for one group did not necessarily work for the other. Norms can be seen as a “behavior contract” since they are unwritten rules to how we act and do things. They are the rules that regulate how we interact with one another, manage business, make decisions, communicate, and how we address one another. It is expected that at one point or another norms are going to be violated. It is important to communicate when a norm is violated and as a group come up with a way to penalize. The punishment does not necessarily have to be bad and there are ways to make it fun, the point is to be able to point out the violations and make it know to the group that that is unnaceptable. Enforcing these norms should come from everyone in the group not just one person. Evaluation of the group is a must and should cover groups strength, weaknesses and how to communicate better with one
