Corey, Corey, and Haynes’ (2014) group leadership skills checklist was helpful in gaining insight into personal strengths and weaknesses for leading group counseling sessions. In the areas of active listening, clarifying, summarizing, facilitating, empathizing, interpreting, linking, supporting, reality testing, evaluating, and terminating I rated myself a nine. However, although I have lead groups, I have not lead counseling groups so there will be room for improvement. In the areas of reflecting, confronting, and diagnosing I rated myself an eight. I rated myself a seven in questioning and a six in blocking. In the skills that I rated myself less than a nine, I felt that I was better in sub-categories of
