By a babies’ first year, walking becomes more natural and then by their second year of life, toddlers are able to run, walk backwards, jump into place, and kick a ball without falling (Santrock 150). This is because the body starts to decline physically. When it comes to sports though, the athletes’ peaks are different. Like swimming has a peak age of late teens, while runners have a peak in their mid-twenties. As we age to adulthood, the body stops working as well as its use, starts to have slower movements along with slower reflex to grasping
