Sacrificing could also mean giving something up. Although it could make more sense to sacrifice something or someone, including yourself, to save more people, it is a very hard decision to make. No, it really depends on the type of scenario you are in. It is a very big decision to decide and it is completely up to you. In the article “Would you sacrifice one person to save the lives of many?” there is an example where you are on a trolley and you have the choice to either push one person off and save five people, or let the five people die and let that one person live. Although saving the five people would make more sense, there are many ways to view this. If you pushed the person off then you would face many years in jail, but if you don’t then you have to live with the fact that you could have saved the people that died. What if that person that you would have to push off was your mom, or someone you loved? Another example is what if you could save people in a fire and risk dying. Again, there many ways to see how it could end up going on whatever decision you make. If you going in trying to save, lets say, three people, you could risk dying. If you don’t, then those three innocent people would die.
