Greason's Theory Of Evolution Essay

Creationism is the belief that the universe along with everything in it was created by acts of divine creation. A good example would be how the Christians believe that God is the creator of all things. Evolution is the process of different species developing and diversifying over a period of time to adapt to their environment. A good example would be us. According to scientists we have ancestors that trace back to six million-years-ago to a group called the Ardipithecus group which is our closest link to other primates. Christianity says that humans are only six thousand-years-old. Evolution was introduced by a very intelligent man, named Charles Darwin. Charles, born on February 12th, 1809 and lived to seventy three-years-old until his death in April 19th, 1882. He was a geologist and a naturalist, but he best known for his theory of evolution. He proposed that all species descended over time from a common ancestor. This man was not an atheist, but he was a man of God, but his idea was rejected from the church and his ideas were mocked. He felt it was like confessing to a murder, and his wife nearly left him because of his evolutionary views.

The Ardipithecus group consisted of: Sahelanthropus Tchadensis, Orrorin Tugenensis, Ardipithecus Kadabba, and Ardipithecus Ramidus. All of these ancestors began in Africa, and were they took the first steps to walking upright. Sahelanthropus Tchadensis, is one of the oldest known

Ardi’s fossils were found alongside faunal remains which indicates Ardi lived in a wooded environment which then contradicts the open savanna theory for the origin of bipedalism. That also states humans learned to walk upright as climates became drier and their environments became more open and grassy (Human Family Tree | The Smithsonian Institution's Human Origins Program. Lamoureaux, who believed that you could be a Christian and still believe in evolutionary theory, wrote the book I love Jesus and Accept Evolution. Evolution is the theory that animals evolved into different species over time. A lot of times people who believe in evolution are not Christians, but there are some Christians who do believe that you can be a Christian and still believe in evolution. This is a controversy because some people believe that if you are a Christian, you cannot believe in evolution. I however am a Christian, and from reading his book and learning more about evolution, I agree with Lamoureaux and believe that you can not only be a Christian, but also be a Christen who accepts the theory of evolution…

The dictionary states that evolution is the process of developing growth. In the bible it is thought that god created everything we see today, from the land we walk on to the animals we interact with. Science claims that every living creature was made of an organism that changed over a period of time. To the current day some people continue to believe that the bible proves how we were created. Others, including myself feel that science evolved us from Apes to humans.…

Evolutionary Creationism is a belief that God created the universe and all life including our surroundings through evolution. We have an old Earth that is 4.6 billion years old. When God was creating the Earth, the seven days weren't made up of our twenty-four hour days. The time he spent was consisted of what we know now as years. This took up a lot of time as well as the many years in between each event in the Bible.…

Bipedalism is the most easily identifiable human trait. No other living mammal walks habitually upright like people do. In The Wisdom of the Bones, Walker and Shipman recount Raymond Dart’s studies of Australopithecines. They found that Australopithecines were more primitive like chimpanzees rather than having human-like intelligence.…

This theory changed in the 1920s when Raymond Dart, discovered the Taung Child skull in South Africa. Taung Child had a small brain, and many scientists thought the 3 million year old Taung was just another ape. But the discovery that the foramen magnum resembled the structure of a human’s skull made scientists believe otherwise. The foramen magnum, which is the hole in which the spinal cord leaves the head, was positioned more under the skull than an ape’s. This makes walking upright a more preferred method of transportation due to comfort and structure.…

The aquatic ape theory described in detail a relatively new and not yet widely accepted reason for how and why humans stand upright instead of on all fours like most animals. Typically, apes were thought to become bipedal to be able to see over the high grasses of the savanna. In this new perspective offered by the novel, apes needed to be bipedal to be able to navigate in and out of water to give birth in water but escape from predators by rushing to land, equally as valid as the original savanna…

Jesus E Fernandez WCIV 10100-H Dr. LePree Fall 2016 Lucy; the most important discovery of the 20th Century Ever since discussions of human ancestry began, many people believed that Europe was the home of the first ancestors of humankind up until the end of the 20th century. An American paleoanthropologist by the name of Dr. Donald Carl Johanson, visited Ethiopia as part of the International Afar Research Expedition in 1973, as a result of this expedition, Dr. Johanson found a knee of a hominid that turned out to be about 3 million years old. Because of its size and the shape, he concluded that this knee belonged to an individual who was bipedal; a species that walks on two legs. A year after his first finding, Johanson went back to Ethiopia with his own expedition team to find what will later be called, Lucy, the Australopithecus Afarensis.…

Australopithecus sediba existed 1.977 – 1.98 million years ago. The characteristics of this species vary greatly from modern humans, but certain similarities with tooth traits, the pelvis bone, and a broad lower chest resemble those of modern-man. Au. Sediba is a very good candidate for the ancestor to the Homo genus because of many of the similarities found in its skeletal structure. Smaller premolars, molars, as well as facial features were more similar to the Homo genus.…

The purpose of the project is to determine the genus and species of seven skulls discovered by Dr. Musoma in Africa, Europe and Asia, approximate the age of each skull, interpret the evolutionary pathway of each species, and provide evidence for and against the “Out of Africa” theory. The purpose of the project with be completed and evidence on the “Out of Africa” theory will be found. Based upon the information left with each of the seven skulls, the remains can be identified with the appropriate genus and species. For all seven skulls, Dr. T. C. Musoma left the cranial capacity, location and the artifacts, if any, found with…
