Friends can help you throughout high school. From my high school experience, I need help to finish an assignment due the next day but I didn’t get some parts of the assignment. I went online on my social media and asked one of the friends for help. If I didn’t make new friends, I could have failed my assignment because I didn’t know anybody that could help me in a time of need. Group projects are common in high school. I have friends who I meet in the beginning of the year that I work well with so I was able to pair up with them. In the end, we did great on the group work. This saved me the trouble of wasting time to find a group and working with people I don’t work well with. Making new friends doesn’t just help you academically but also socially. When you meet new people, you can get invited to parties and events. Me and my friends when out to skate on a holiday because I was bored so they invited skate with them even I don’t know how to skate. As an only child growing up in Clarence, Iowa, I at most times found myself playing alone in my backyard or sitting in front of my television, watching whatever we had on VCR. DVD players had already been out for years at that time, but with my father working as a mechanic in some random guy's garage, we could not afford to buy a DVD player. I had to resort to VHS tapes, but at least my mother would take me to the used game store(which also sold VHS tapes and DVDs)every once in a while. I became addicted to owning VHS tapes, even as a six year old boy and honestly, I still am to this day. My favorites were the movies from Tim Burton and the Disney films were my absolute favorites; I just could not get enough of Toy Story and The Lion King.…
