Golden Gate Park: A Fictional Narrative

To any onlooking passersby, the young couple sitting on a bench in Golden Gate Park would have seemed to be leading a pleasant, normal life. The girl with electric blue eyes and a waterfall of golden hair laughed quietly at something her partner had told her. He shifted in his seat and quickly glanced down at his watch before resuming the conversation. He appeared to be around the age of 17, a few years older than her. Well-built, with dark brown hair swept back to reveal a sharp but handsome face, piercing eyes that could read your soul and a genuine smile, every eye was drawn to him. Blue and red flashing lights greeted Ellie as she gazed down on the crime scene. It had been a huge risk, especially with so many witnesses, but she knew that this time would be successful.
The realization of what she had done finally sunk in. It was not the first time she had killed someone, but this time felt different.

January 1, 2016 Ellie glanced down at the morning paper. The front page headline read “Murder in the Park”. A picture of a body sprawled across the grass stabbed at her heart. She scanned the first paragraph, looking to see if the police had any leads that could compromise her. “A young man, with dark brown hair and blue eyes was shot last night in Golden Gate Park. Police are still investigating the murderer. The only evidence found is the bullet that shot the man in the head…”
Ellie’s phone buzzed in her pocket. Taking it out, she looked at the caller ID. The number was one she did not recognize. Curious, but also a little nervous, she answered the call. “Hello?”
