Dodie, Amazing post, and might I add this post was very well-written. You made several great points, and I agree with you on all of them. You choose five really good causes and symptoms of students with TBIs. It’s scary to think that all you wanted to do was watch your child play a sport, and not get hurt, especially with a TBI. After reviewing my persuasive speech over why the University of Oklahoma is the best university in the nation, I would sum up my speech as a little bit of train wreck. Although I made good claims with factual evidence, the amount of stuttering I did, and all the times I was choked up throughout the speech drew my audience’s attention away. From this, I lost my audience’s belief that I was competent of the information I was reiterating to them. At the introduction of my speech I believe I started out fairly strong and gave a good run down of the coming speech.…

The informative briefing is the first of the three major communication assignments that will be completed this semester in COMM 107. I personally enjoyed this assignment because it forced me to research an area that I never would have looked at. I learned so much about some of the most notorious serial killers to ever walk on United States soil, which is a part of this countries past no matter how disturbing it may be. The assignment also opened my eyes up to how far I still have to go in order to truly become a good public speaker. When it comes to being nervous, I would have to say that public speaking for some reason makes me more nervous than any other thing in life.…

Earlier this month I attempted the task of going 24 hours without technology. We had to look at the effects that technology had on us, and at the feelings we had during and after the event. I have to admit it was hard to undergo this task, I am a freshmen in college, and I find that I use technology everyday almost all day long. I wanted to take it a step farther and see what it’s like being a high school student and how much technology they use in a day, and what they use it for. Technology is always growing into something bigger and better.…

Subsequently, through the skills that I have acquired in my life, I know how more success I am. Back to high school days-when I had to do speeches, the difficult part was when you have to stand up and speak loud. At first, I was a very shy person, and my speeches were so bad because I used to get scared, especially when I used to stand up in front of all the class; most of my speeches went like that. However, we had a speech where you have to talk about twenty-two minutes and stand up in front of all the students. This exemplifies that I have to work hard in order to be good at doing the presentation.…
