The best decision I have ever made was going to college. I am the first in my family to graduate from high school and go to college. Unfortunately, I was not born in the United States so I questioned myself would I ever be eligible to go to college. But when I found out I was eligible for a full scholarship I went for it. I don’t regret it because I can get a step closer to my dream job which is becoming a Pediatrician. During my high school years, my friends and I would make fun of Benedict. Saying it wasn’t a good school because of the rumors we heard. They said it was for dumb people that couldn’t afford other colleges. People that just wanted to go to college just to say they went to college. It was a college where people could catch disease quick because the females were so easy and the males would get into anything they could. Rumors were all we heard because we were the high school down the street. I am a proud C. A. Johnson graduate and I know what it feels like for your school to be talked down on because people talked down on us and called us dumb and said we would have never made it nowhere. I would brag that I’m going to college because as a Non-US Citizen people thought I would have never made it this far. At first I was nervous because I was afraid of what people would have said about me. Are they going to like me? What will they think about me? Will I make friends? How are the teachers going to be? I questioned everything. But once I had the experience to actually be on the campus I realized it wasn’t so bad after all. I got reunited with old friends and people helped me out finding my classes.
