Are you attempting to go natural, but you require a little advice? You've come to the right place, my friend. I'm glad you have decided to embrace what's naturally ours... the nappy roots. I have been a natural for over 15 years now and I must say it's liberating. I don't have to remember not to scratch 'cause I'm getting a perm today. I do not miss feeling like my scalp is burning in hell, at all. It's like not having your monthly, actually. It is a wonderful thang, Sistas, it's a wonderful thang! I get all excited just thinking how blessed I am. Oh, okay so back the going natural. (LMBO) I've done all the research so you don't have too and have come up with 10 tips for going natural.

You don't need to set a date right away. The transition process could take a couple of months to one year. Concentrate on letting your hair grow and all of the benefits of going natural. In these days, you will find out what kind of pattern your natural hair has and whether it's kinky or coarse.
2. Remember, you styling to varying hair textures so be careful not to cause hair breakage. Wear styles that don't require pulling or heat. Protect your hair by wearing it in a twist or bun. If you choose a twist out or a braid out, use rods or rollers as this will give your hair a more defined look.
3. Always detangle hair when it's still wet. Use a leave in conditioner and a wide-tooth comb. Comb from the bottom or the end of your hair and work your way up toward the roots.
4. Here's the kicker... was your hair as much as possible. Some of us can do it every couple of days while others might not be able to wash as often. You may have to experiment to find out if your hair can stand the conditions. If you find that washing more frequently is causing more harm than good, then taper off and try once a week or twice a month.
5. Weather conditions and pollutants tend to dry out hair and dry hair is subject to breakage. Nothing compares to water, however, you can try a hair
