The goal of diversity training is to eliminate the values, stereotypes, and managerial practices that hold back employees’ personal development (Noe, 2008). Globalization results in the necessity to deal with different languages and different ways of communicating. Individuals come from different backgrounds, have different beliefs and values, and have different ways of approaching situations. The type of training necessary is cross-cultural training that enables the expatriate employees to prepare for their assignments.     I found FT to be a very interesting and easy to understand intervention. I appreciated that the focus group was very specific in that the participants had to have been removed from their abuser for two years, yet still had to test at a certain level to continue on in the study. I also appreciated that it was specific to emotional abuse, because it is often not given as much research as aftercare of physical and sexual abuse.
