ABSTRACT
Context : GnRH Agonist (GnRHa) maybe the most effective drugs in the management of myomas. However, there remains some uncertainty regarding the efficacy of the therapy because of conflicting reports in the literature.
Objective : This research objective is to identify potential factors that can predict adverse outcomes in patients with uterine myomas undergoing GnRH Agonist (GnRHa) therapy.
Data Sources and Study Selection : We used previous meta-analyses, MEDLINE searches, and journal reviews from January 1995 through December 2002. We identified long-term randomized controlled trials that assessed major cardiovascular disease …show more content…
The vast majority of leiomyomas are asymptomatic. The most common symptom of uterine leiomyoma is abnormal uterine bleeding. In published series of myomectomies, 30% of women suffered from menorrhagia. The mechanism of myoma-associated menorrhagia is unknown. Vascular defects, submucous tumours, and impaired endometrial hemostasis have been offered as possible explanations[5]. But some other times they have been associated with a number of clinical issues including abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) especially heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB), infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, and complaints related to the impact of the enlarged uterus on adjacent structures in the pelvis, which are often referred to as ‘‘bulk’’ symptoms [6].
